How to buy wedding day accessories

You would look pretty funny walking down the aisle with no dress on, so I’m sure you’ll agree that wedding fashion starts with the perfect dress.  However, jewelry and other accessories are to your wedding dress as frosting is to your cake.  So, what should you look for when accessorizing your wedding dress?

Here’s some advice:

Shoes- Like your wedding gown, bridal shoes should be appropriate for the season and occasion.

  • Wear sandals, or even go barefoot for a beach wedding, but wear close-toed shoes for a winter wedding.
  • Choose a shoe fabric that matches your wedding gown.  Remember, there are several colors of white, so bring a swatch of your wedding dress fabric with you when purchasing shoes.

Veils- If you decide to wear a veil make sure that it suits your hair style, appearance and wedding day style.

  • Choose a veil style that flatters the shape of your face: if you have a long face, choose a veil that creates width; if you have a round face, pick a veil that covers the sides of your face.
  • If you’re wearing a plain dress, spruce it up with an elaborate veil.

Jewelry – Choosing bridal jewelry is a matter of personal taste and budget. You might want to save money on wedding costs and go with budget options, or splurge on keepsakes to mark the occasion.  Either way, choose jewelry that suits your dress and, again, flatters your face.  We can help you with that.

Regardless as to where you purchase your wedding day accessories make sure that it’s you making the decision..no one else.  This is your day!  For more tips and information please come see one of our fabulous wedding experts at the Beverly Hills Bridal ExChange.  Our website for more information is www.beverlyhillsbridalexchange.com .
